    Hi all,

I am currently undergoing a company name change, and I have changed the server contact email address from its old value to the new address, with my new company name.

Now: How can I get this new address to show in teh DNS zone templates? Is there a script tha can be run? I have about 300 zone files on this server, so manually editing them is out of the question.

Basically at the moment, the new address is new.address@newcompanyname.com, it is setup as the server contact email, however, in my clients DNS zones, it still shows as old.address@oldcompanyname.com

    Cheers
    BB

Indeed, you need some scripting to help you to update this.

    replace 'old.emailaddress.company.com' 'new.emailaddress.example.com' -- /var/named/*

should do the trick via SSH. Remember that in DNS zones that "@" is replaced by ".". Ok, the command doesn't increment the serial number as it should but...
