changing mailserver ip

    hi guys,

    anyone know if have any way to change the mailserver ip?

    I mean make exim use another ip instead of the main server ip?

    You can do it with exim directives, you need to either search the forums (this has been naswered several times before) or go over to the exim site and investigate.

    You need to edit the DNS zone of the Web site/account at:
    /var/named/domain.db
    Be careful as this can be very tricky.

    Changing the MX record won't help with the IP address that exim sends email out on - that will always be the servers main IP address unless you explicitly change it in /etc/exim.conf, here is a thread that explains how to do it:
