I have a cpanel account with several active addon domains (each with its own content, email accounts, some use databses etc.).

I am planning to change my main domain name (so I can use it for other puprposes).

What would be involved in doing that? Is this just simple change my hosting provider would have to make, or are there additional things I (or my hosting provider) would have to do in order to make sure all of my addon domains remain operational without disturbance?

    Thanks

Thank you. So do the subdomains that are created with the creation of addon domains just automatically become subdomains of the new domain name?

    Hello :)

Your hosting provider can modify the domain name via:

"WHM Home » Account Functions » Modify an Account"

This will automatically update the subdomain entries that exist, yes.

    Thank you.
