I have a Cpanel server that has been running for about 2 years. Since it was originally setup, we have been running our DNS from an external source (no DNS on the server itself).

We recently moved our DNS functions to another outsourced provider. When I change the Resolver Configuration on my Cpanel box to point to the new IP's for name services, I lose all ability to resolve. I login to the server via SSH and try to ping Yahoo, Googles, etc. and it fails. Also, mail delivery off of the server fails as it can't resolve external domain names.

When I switch back to the original nameservers, it all starts working again. What step am I missing to make this switch properly? Thanks for any assistance.

You are sure of the IP's for the new nameservers, as the change should be immediate and work?
