I just changed my root password from within WHM and got the following error message:
    ----------------
    Results of Password Change

    Changing password for root
Password for root has been changed
    Updating mysql database access...
    Invalid Username.
    Done

    Ftp Updating...

    Ftp Password Files synced
    Vhost Passwords synced
    ---------------------

Why would it show invalid username? And how can I find out what this meant?

It's nothing to worry about. It's been saying that for a long time.
