This is a situation where the

    (1) name based domain ip was changed to dedicated ip (somedomain.com)
    (2) the name based domain was also a part of the host name (name.somedomain.com)

What happens on chjange of IP address for somedomain.com

The IP address of name.somedomain.com also gets changed resulting in chaos.
The httpd.conf had to be edited manually to set the things back to normal.

It did mess up in my case and this was posted as a live case for others if they find themselves in same situation.

Changing somedomain.com to XX.XXX.XX.216 (from shared IP to XX.XXX.XX.210) it did modifiy name.somdomain.com entry also to 216 as a result of which there was temporary chaos.

    Cheers
