Changing websites gradually, but not domains

Hey everyone, I'm a fairly new comer to managing a website and would like some advice on this project.

My company is changing our website from Drupal to a custom web solution, but they want this change to take place gradually. Our plan would be to create a subdomain on our server and then have each page on our current website, one-by-one, display the content of the corresponding page on the subdomain, but without changing the URL.

Can this be done, and how?

Thanks in advance! :)

I don't believe this can be done without changing the URL, you'd need to redirect the specific URL to the subdomain or alternate domain and this would require a redirect.

Hey, thanks for the reply!
And that's too bad. I assumed there was probably some way to just sort of have it mirror the contents of the subdomain's folder, or somehow point it to that folder instead of its current one.

Hi @PluggedP93

I've been doing a bit of research on this, this morning and It might be possible? Personally I'd test this out before using it but the suggestions here might be helpful: Redirect web page to another site without changing URL, though I am not super confident, I was unable to achieve this with the redirect they mentioned specifically.

Okay, great! Thank you so much for this Lauren! :) Could I also bother you for some tips / steps on how to setup a virtual domain through cPanel?

That could be a stopping point, the only way to do this while using cPanel/WHM would be to add it using an Apache include file. If you don't have access to WHM (i.e., you're on a shared server) you would need to touch base with your hosting provider to have this added for you.
