    Hello,

On this forum, I have read that the option "Optimize EIDE Hard Drives", it improved the performances of the HD.
I have tried and indeed it seems that the server responds more quickly.

But now, when I make upcp I get the following errors:

    [...]
This is the MySQL 4.0.25 installer release number 0 for platform
MySQL-shared is out of date (MySQL-shared-4.0.25-0
    MySQL-shared-4.0.25-0
    MySQL-shared-4.0.25-0
    MySQL-shared-4.0.25-0 != MySQL-shared-4.0.25-0)
    [...]

    and then

    [...]
chattr: Inappropriate ioctl for device while reading flags on ....
    [...]
this message appears for many files...

I don't know if the two things are connected...
but I don't understand because and I cannot upgrade the system...

    I'm on a:
    - Virtuozo VPS
    - OS: Fedora i686 FC2
    - WHM 10.8.0 cPanel 10.8.1-R21

    What can I do?
    Can someone help me?

Thanks and excuse for my English...

    Michele

I don't believe chattr works on VPS's. Is it possible you had this error before you optimized your drives.

    Go on, have a guess
Indeed, both chattr and the disk optimization option will have no effect on a VPS at all.

    Thanks for the two answers...

But why don't I succeed to update the system anymore?
Even if from shell I do /scripts/upcp --force...
the errors are those writings in the first post...

    What can I do?
    Thanks
    Michele
