Does anyone know if it's possible to setup a cron to check to see if an additional backup destination gets disabled during backup? It seems to happen from time to time and it would be nice to get an email alert if it does!

You should already receive a notification if the backup destination is disabled due to a failure. You can browse to "WHM Home » Server Contacts » Contact Manager" and check to see which contact methods are configured for the "Backup Transport Error" and "Backup Failure" notifications.
