Check webmail via mail.domain.com instead of webmail.domain.com

When clients go to webmail.domain.com it gives them an https warning because I am assuming their is a self-signed cert for this domain. When I look at my ssl certs for the root domain, it shows that mail.domain.com is covered with an ssl cert.

How can I allow my clients to check their webmail by navigating to mail.domain.com ? I have a feeling that I need to edit the DNS records but I dont not want to mess anything up because I am not 100% sure.

By the way when I navigate mail.domain.com , it just redirects me to domain.com.

Hello,

The issue you are facing is actually addressed in cPanel version 64:

SSL proxy subdomains
In cPanel & WHM version 64, we added the ability to add SSL to proxy subdomains.
The AutoSSL feature automatically adds proxy subdomains to the free signed SSL certificates. cPanel 64 is currently published to the "Edge" and "Current" build tiers.

Thank you.
