I have several domains that are getting mail errors that say that the mailbox in the wrong chmod 644. If I change the inbox pop to 660 as someone suggested here it works fine.

But now I have about 6 domains with this problem and it is getting annoying. ANy one have any idea as to why??

So it is a common problem then, right?

well i only find around 1 in every 200 accounts has this problem it could be down to users messing with chmod via ftp or a cpanel bug

Hmm, that would make sense, because the user that it happened with on my server is someone who likes to play with things. He swears he didn't touch the e-mail account, though.:)

Also i have never tried this but maybe the clients restore a backup feature also restores mail with the wrong chmod. i`ve been meaning to test this out just haven`t got around to it, to be honest i`m not sure if the backup feature includes mail or not.
