I am making a system that will copy files from one directory on the server to the users www folder.

Apparently I need to make sure the copied files have the right user group.

What i want to know is how can i find out what the current users user name is (login through linux) so i can change the copied files to their ownership.

Also if i wanted to install a script that is automatically put in every users account as accounts are made. A skeleton account as such. ANy info / recources much appreciated!

Anything that is in the /root/cpanel3-skel (or I belive in your reseller home directory, if you aren't root) will get copied into any new user's home directory with the proper permissions. cPanel users are created from here like standard *nix users are created from /etc/skel by default.

    I hope this helps.
