We have a user that is complaining about is moderated mailing lists that are not working.

When doing ls -l /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/mailman/listname for some mailing lists I have the following variations (look at the different chown values for the files):

    variation 1

    -rw-rw---- 1 mailman mailman 4013 Nov 8 12:00 config.pck
    -rw-rw---- 1 mailman mailman 4013 Nov 8 09:00 config.pck.last
    -rw-rw---- 1 mailman mailman 127 Nov 2 18:12 pending.pck
    -rw-rw-r-- 1 root mailman 22 Nov 5 10:01 request.pck

    variation 2

    -rw-rw---- 1 mailman mailman 3495 Nov 8 12:00 config.pck
    -rw-rw---- 1 mailman mailman 3495 Nov 8 09:00 config.pck.last
    -rw-rw---- 1 root mailman 209 Nov 5 10:25 pending.pck
    -rw-rw-r-- 1 mailman mailman 999 Nov 6 08:00 request.pck

    variation 3

    -rw-rw---- 1 mailman mailman 8724 Nov 8 12:00 config.pck
    -rw-rw---- 1 root mailman 8724 Nov 8 10:31 config.pck.last
    -rw-rw---- 1 mailman mailman 129 Oct 24 16:40 pending.pck
    -rw-rw-r-- 1 root mailman 22 Nov 5 10:01 request.pck

    variation 4

    -rw-rw---- 1 mailman mailman 13855 Nov 8 12:00 config.pck
    -rw-rw---- 1 mailman mailman 13855 Nov 8 10:08 config.pck.last
    -rw-rw---- 1 mailman mailman 129 Nov 5 14:57 pending.pck
    -rw-rw-r-- 1 mailman mailman 20 Nov 6 08:00 request.pck

The lists that do not work all have variation 1

A test list I created and that does work has variation 2

The other variations I don't know if they do work correctly or not.

Does anybody know what implications it would have to change these chown values? Probably these different values correspond with different mailman settings and it would not be wise to change them...

    Any help would be appreciated.

I have experimented with these values, and it appears that it does not make not working mailing lists working when I change these.

Anyone has ideas where to look when mailing lists do not seem to receive mails?
