Clamav Configuration Question

1. Installed using anand's method, but coming up with Digital Signature error message. Have installed gmp-devel through WHM - but still receive message. Have stopped and restarted Exim, Bind and Apache.

2. Is there a way to see if Clamd is still running clamwatch does not seem to be able to handle - or will Exim restart if it stops?

I did setup Clamav so that it would not scan my outgoing - I have large Mailman lists. I used accept authenticated = * just before the ACL for Clam - if someone has a better idea than that - or an idea on how to ONLY skip Mailman... Otherwise I can live with that.

netstat -nlp should give you something like this right at the bottom:

Active UNIX domain sockets (only servers)
Proto RefCnt Flags Type State I-Node PID/Program name Path
unix 2 [ ACC ] STREAM LISTENING 61719325 30346/clamd /var/run/clamav/clamd

On outgoing mail scanning:
If outgoing mails uses local smtp it would be.
I presume that if it uses sendmail wrapper, it shouldn't be scanned for viruses.

Thanks, but I was tryng to find out if it would restart. Clamwatch has a way to do it - but the method relies on the daemon being loaded at startup - which Cpanel/Exim does not do.


Anyone on the Digital Signature -or should I try reinstalling Clamav - since I have already RPM'd gmp-devel ?

On the local SMTP - thanks I will see if I can test that and see if does not do local.

Hi.

Just do a /etc/rc.d/init.d/exim restart

It should show you clamd stopping and starting also.

Could this be used in adding clamd to /etc/chkserv.d and also to /var/run/chkservd?

If yes then how exactly?

you can open the script and check that out. i just got him something to start the clamd.
