    Hi there,

I am trying to scan /home/ with ClamAV (recursively, only showing infected files), but when I do this, it scans all the mail folders too.

How do you scan /home/ quietly, without scanning mail folders, and then let it e-mail the result to you once done?

    Is this possible?

    Thanks

    use the --exclude setting

    clamscan --exclude=maildirectory -i -r /home

clamav does not have an email ability.

Thanks for your reply, but when I do it, the Putty session eventually closes the connection due to it being idle - is there a way to keep the session active or how can I get the search results saved into a .txt file?

Any help will be much appreciated.

Just start the scanning in screen.

Now even if you lost the connection scanning will run in screen. Just reconnect to server and reconnect to screen using the following commands.

Above will list the screen sessions.

    Attach using the following.

    or

Open "ReportNov3.txt" to see the results.

    Cheers!!!
