What is the most efficient way of killing all emails in a runaway catch-all email account?

Any working trick accepted, SSH, WHM or cpanel.

    Kind Regards,
    Tony Lindskog

    ssh:
    rm -f /home/account/mail/domain/emailusername/new/*

replace account, domain and emailusername with appropriate info..

WHM (with Configserver Mail Manage App)
    click the 'empty mailbox' icon

Those are the two simplest, methinks. If you don't have Chirpy's software, I'd HIGHLY recommend getting it: www.configserver.com

    Lyttek,

    THANK YOU!

Albeit SSH is nice, WHM is so much nicer, cleaner and quicker.

And yes, I do have CMM installed, but it is one of those tools you don't tend to use often so I had forgotten all about it.

Thanks again for reminding me and Thanks to Chirpy for installing it for me way back when.

    I appreciate the help,

    Kind Regards,
    Tony

    Total emails removed: 108250 (YAY!)

The user can also do it themself by deleting the email account and recreating it, that will empty it out.

Unless it is the sites first email account (username) that once upon a time used to be the catchall account as well.

Depending upon the system and how many files are in the new directory, this can encounter glob-expansion issues. On such systems you may need to perform the removal as:

    Code:
    rm -f /home/account/mail/domain/emailusername/new
    mkdir /home/account/mail/domain/emailusername/new
