CloudLinux 8.2 Questions

Looking for some info please.


I'm about to make hosting server. I decided to go with CloudLinux 8 and cPanel as it looks like best solution for shared hosting.

Q1. When can we expect cPanel support for CloudLinux 8.2 ? Does cPanel support for CentOS 8 automatically means support for CloudLinux 8.2 or we will have to wait longer.

Q2. Is it better to first install CentOS 8 and upgrade it to CloudLinux or just fresh install CloudLinux 8 ?

Hello,

We are looking at officially supporting CentOS + CloudLinux 8 in v94 of cPanel & WHM, v92 will have both available but this will be a preview release only and will not include full support.

Either method of install is ok but CloudLinux's own instructions from the release of CL 8 beta note that the best method to install Cloudlinux is to convert from CentOS Beta: CloudLinux 8 with 4.18 kernel is here
