If I have the domain mydomain.com and I need to do a CNAME pointed to otherdomain.com what needs to be set in cpanel's DNS editor.

I set it to:

mydomain.com 14400 IN CNAME otherdomain.com.

but when I do nslookup it finds no CNAME record for mydomain.com. What am I doing wrong?

That is not possible, you can not create a CNAME-record for the name of the zone itself.

Hello :)

You could create an "A" record pointing to the external IP address if the domain name is configured on the remote server. Or, you could update the "CNAME" record for "www" and redirect all "non-www" requests to the "www" prefix.

Thank you.
