What are the most common user installed software (obviously on dedicated servers they lease)?

    Examples:
    Shoutcast
    Virtuozzo (for VPS)
    Eggdrops (bad idea)
    IRC (bad idea as well)

Anything else? Please let me know anything you can think of whether good / bad (include pros/cons please).

    Audio/Video streaming?
    Plugins / Programming Software
    ???

    Thanks!

If your running a web hosting business I would hope you would not allow any user installed programs

we run both realserver and shoutcast but they are running on a locked down dedicated box

we also run a irc server but there again its locked down and password protected and on a seperate server

so i would say that no response is a hint not to allow anything to be user installed
