Is there some way to control cPanel's compile time options for Exim? I'd like to include support for MySQL database so that ACLs can do searches on MySQL tables.

I know this can be done from a perl script, but the overhead of opening/closing a connection from the script each time it's called doesn't make sense when Exim has support built in.

you would have to compile it yourself as cPanel provides exim as a pre-packaged RPM

Sounds like that might be a problem if cPanel upgrades Exim in the future. I guess I'll look at converting my ACLs to use dbm instead of MySQL.

    Thanks!

there is a post eximup hook (although the name of it escapes me) which I guess you could use to decompile the RPM and recompile exim with the extra flags, all seems a bit hap-hazard though, personally I agree with your idea as this is less likely to break anything :)
