I have tried to compile php with gd support about 20 times last night. I have tried everyoption in easyapache via shell and have gotten no luck.

Everytime I try I get the same info in my phpinfo.

Our phpinfo script is located here: http://w2.eleven2.com/phpinfo.php

    Thanks,

    Rodney Giles

Try easyapache via WHM... instead of shell. I had the shell buildapache act oddly for me before, I think it was something related to not loading the previous config correctly, and then I couldn't select the options I wanted.

Also check your installed rpm software to see if you have gd installed.

FYI: it looks like you're using an insecure and outdated kernel... (are you using Redhat Enterprise 3?) The latest RHE 3 kernel is 2.4.21-20.EL (and you'd need the smp version it looks).

You're something like 6 versions behind... and I think there were local root exploits and other holes in your kernel version discovered several months ago.

Also php 4.3.9 is out and contains a number of bux fixes, etc - nothing critical... but you might as well be running it if you're rebuilding apache anyways. Oh and it also has the latest version of GD... the one with gif support.
