complete and utter newbie: how do I website

I'm attempting to get this website up and running as a favour to a friend: he had already purchased a domain name from crazydomains.com.au, and I directed him to uber.com.au/business to set up the web hosting dealie.
He sent me all his usernames and passwords, I uploaded an index.html (and nothing else) to the public_html folder in cPanel file manager, tested it out, and lo: rhinoroofingsolutions.com.au
it's just the crazy domains site...

I've only ever done this stuff once, six years ago, under the supervision of my IPT teacher. Any advice that could be understood by a complete layperson and/or small child would be wholeheartedly appreciated.

Sounds like you need to update the name servers at the registrar to use the name servers of the server where the site is located.

This might be helpful:
/http://www.crazydomains.com.au/help/domain-names/

What those name servers are, only your Hosting Provider can answer I think:
/http://www.uber.com.au/support/kb/articles/domains/pointing-you-domain-name-to-uber-global/

At the moment they point to crazydomains:
/http://www.intodns.com/rhinoroofingsolutions.com.au
