    Hi
I added a 2nd NIC to my cpanel server and set the IP from the command line using 'Setup' (Centos), this then broke my main NIC which has numerous IP aliases by making all the aliase IP's fail.
I have now removed the 2nd NIC and rebooted and all is back up and working so I assume the 2nd NIC stomped on the 1st NIC's aliases.

What is the correct way to add a 2nd NIC and configure it?

I want the 2nd NIC for LAN backups which will be on a separate network to the main NIC.

    Thanks

add a second network card to linux server - Google Search

This is more of a hardware question than a cPanel issue and a bit out of the scope of the forums I would think. That's not to say someone won't be by to help, but if you can't wait, that link may work for you.
