I run a newsletter mailing list on a shared server with cPanel. The mailing list has about 500 subscribers. The host has recently implemented the hard limit in WHM, limiting the mails from my domain to 400 per hour.

Problem is, mailman throws the list of mails to exim, who dutifully runs through the queue as fast as it can. My domain thus tries to send out 500 emails in that hour, of which about 100 are blocked before they can exit the server.

I wish to force the mails to be sent in batches. This will not cause a backlog as the mails are only sent from one user, once per week.

    1) Can I do this from my end? I only have access to the /home/[user] directory and the usual cron jobs on the cPanel interface.

    2) If not, can I get the host to do anything site-specific? Maybe add a script for my site?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
