Configuring nginx on cpanel server for filehosting site

I have a filehosting server which has nginx installed. I wanted nginx to serve download requests instead of apache but it seems my server still serves requests via apache and when i have 40-50 simultaneous downloads running, cpanel server shows high cpu loads (80-90%). How do i configure nginx configuration to bring down the high cpu usage.

Are you using any Nginx plugin ?
