    Heya.

My client's server uses cPanel / WHM, and I need to upgrade PHP with --enable-soap. As per the directions in the FAQ, I logged into WHM and selected Apache Upgrade from the Software menu.

However, there is no option to compile with --enable-soap.

Is it possible to configure PHP manually and hand off the configured/compiled code to WHM? Can/should I bypass cPanel? What are my options?

The end goal is to connect to a 3rd party API that utilizes a SOAP server that requires WSS security. They released a Java API, but so far, I have been unable to get PHP-Java Bridge working properly. I attempted to use the nusoap PHP extension, but nusoap does not support WSS. Installing WS02 results in segfaults, and at this point, I've escalated the problem to my boss, who says that he should be able to get it working, but we need to get PHP compiled with --enable-soap in the configuration line.

    Thanks for your time.
