Hi,

(first post on cPanel forums, so please be gently)

I'm kinda holding my head in shame here as i have not been able to figure out what I'm doing wrong. I'm a reasonably clued up guy who is usually the one who helps friends and work colleagues out when it comes to these sort of issues.

In a nutshell, I cant seem to upload/publish my website on file manager.

Ive contacted my web hosting provider who kindly rectified my error and got my website up and running for me in the first instance, but ive since made some changes and am faced with the same problem. After many an all night stint reading tutorials and watching hours of youtube clips i still cant see what I'm doing wrong.

If there is a kind soul out there that can spare 5/10 min and has skype I would so appreciate it if they could view my computer screen via skype video from my phone and just talk me through what I'm missing.

Many thanks in advance

Paul

I shall do my best to explain:
I used serif essentials to design the website for my new company and used file manager to upload it to the public_html area. It showed the file as being there but when putting the website into the address bar it gave me the web hosting hold page. I emailed my web hosting support bods and they said i had not posted it into the public area, they kindly moved it over for me and all is well.
Now I've made a few changes to the website on serif i want to upload the new version but am faced with the same problem.

When i first thought i had uploaded it to the public area it showed one .wpp file (the complete serif file comprising of 11 pages) type, text/x-generic the three blue files that were there already and nothing else. After my support bods looked at it, the public_html area now shows all 11 pages as .html files as well as the original .wpp file.

My question is i don't know what they did that i missed, I've followed numerous instructions and each time i do the new file appears in the public_html area (the last modified section shows this) but the website when loaded still shows the original version and none of the separate .html files in the public area have been modified.

I hope some of what ive written makes sense.

Regards
Paul

This sounds like technical issues with that software itself, not your cPanel account. You might do better to visit the support site for that software. I would think others have had this sort of issue come up and it's been explained in details, there. Here's a link for you to get you going in the right direction:

Good luck!
