Connect direclty to smtp server instead exim

i am trying to send an email from perl using mime::lite. It doesn't connect to remote smtp server, exim forces me to login and if the login is successful, exim directly deliver the email.

How can I change this behavior ?

If you are connecting to a remote smtp server, then the local smtp server, which is Exim, has nothing to do with that.
