It's user error, that I know for sure, It's not just today or just this specific server or this specific FTP Cilient, I've tried them all over time, and it doesn't matter which server or VPS I am trying to connect to, I just simply can never get the connection to happen reliably.
To date I have never managed a connection using the Root on any server or VPS, even with the option allowing login with root password enabled, sometimes if I use an individual account user and password I can get a connection to that specific accounts file system, but not every time, it's annoying and I usually just give up, but this time I decided to try and get the opinions of other cPanel admins.
This is the current layout.
I'm using Ubuntu 18.04 on my desktop, it is my primary OS
File Manager > Other Locations > Connect To Server
The server is a dedication running
CENTOS 6.10 kvm
cPanel v76.0.9
PreFTP service (root login is enabled)
Whenever I try to login using root the server disconnects and when I tried to use use one of the individual accounts I have on the server the same thing happens, I was able to successfully login using the same method(for an individual account not root) on one of my other dedicated servers
Even that one quit working when I retried, I really need to be able to use Root to connect to the servers since I need to manage files between different accounts. I can just never really get it to work reliably.
Please, if anyone here has experience using Ubuntu 18.04 Desktop and knows how to manage multiple servers and accounts simultaneously without having to constantly sign in and out of individual accounts, please offer me your wisdom.
My goal is to be able to access my servers file systems as root in the file system on Ubuntu 18.04 Desktop.
To manage files between different account on the same server or between multiple servers at one time. I my issues are a user error, I am relatively new to having so many different servers and accounts to manage.
Thank You, for your time and any advice you may provide.
