I have to copy a 153G account to a new server from a server with only 40G left.

There are no extra drives on the server and all most of the data on the account is mail.

Will Cpanel's copy account recognize the lack of space and copy incrementally
or will the process fail for lack of available storage?

I worry about running out of space during the process and cause the server to crash or something.

    Thanks
    Ronald

cPanel's script will package the account until it runs out of space. I recommend that you package up the account with /scripts/pkgacct using the skiphomedir flag, then restore it on the target system. Once restored, use ssh or ftp to copy the users home directory data over.

homedir.tar in the cpmove folder appears to have everything i need to extract into the account on the new server.

What would be the correct tar command to extract it without messing up permissions on the restored homedir?

    Thank you!
