How long does the 'Creating Archive .............' step usually take? This step has been working away for 22 minutes so far, and still waiting, while previous steps have been quick.

What actions are performed in this step? Also, only big thing I can think of is the 500 mb MySQL database, although they're both dedicated servers with fast lines - should be fast.

    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

Kind of wondering this myself... I've been waiting 30 minutes or so now (It's someone else's server I'm transferring from). Looking at other's posted examples of the transfer it usually seems pretty quick.

It is taring and compressing the files (like zipping) which can take some time. If you have 500mb in the database and another 100-200mb in your website that is a fair amount of data. Think on your home computer how long it would take to compress a 700mb file. Even with a fast computer it might take awhile.
