I need to copy/backup/export a database from on MySql server to another one. I am new to cpanel and mySql. The MySql bible I bought tells me how to do it via command line. It's assuming I have administrative priveleges. I haven't found anywhere where it tells me how to use the export function in cpanel. Can anyone take me to school on this?

    cPanel Access Level:
    Root Administrator
In the CPanel area -> Backup -> Download a MySQL Database Backup
    or
MySQL Databases -> phpMyAdmin and use the export function once you have selected your database.

I tried using the export function, but it exported to the localhost. I was thinking of exporting to my machine and then back up to the other server but I haven't found anything in Cpanel that allows importing.

    Alex,
Your directions for using the backup function in cpanel hopefully will be sufficient. I tried it once already and it zipped up 10 of the 15 tables. So I think I'll be able to figure it out from here. Thanks again.
