correct /etc/resolve.conf ?

    Root Administrator
    I have different format entries for /etc/resolv.conf on different servers but both work, is one way better than another? Example:
    nameserver 1.2.3.4

    OR:

    1.2.3.4 fred.mydomain.com fred

    Sounds like you are confusing the "resolv.conf" file with the "hosts" file ...
