corrupted passwords on server (no root login)

Hello, one of our servers get corrupted and now i cant ssh it with root (it gives that root password is incorrect) i logged with liveCD and changed the passrd and shadow files with their backups but now no one of our clients can log in their cpanels or ssh, where could be the problem and how to fix it (i also remove the password hash from /etc/shadow file) but this way i still cant log. Please help me it is urgent. If somebody can tell me way to add autozired_keys on this server and the login from another without password it will be great or at least a way to fix the root password.

i will try this option, but how to fix the client`s passowrds, now no one can ssh/login cpanel/ftp or etc. where is the problem? in this files or somewhere in the OS?

Well, cPanel does use the normal /etc/passwd & /etc/shadow for identification so there is not much to do about that.
