Hi i am getting a SMTP could not authenticate when sending email from my WHMCS..

    WHMCS said this:

I would not be surprised since this this a new VPS setup if i missed something. How to i check to see ifi am set up for TLS? here is what i have done so far.

I have checked the password, correct
I have checked the mail server. Cpanel email config says it is vulcan.durangodaveshosting.com instead of mail.durangodaveshosting.com
    I am using port 465 8bit SMTP
I did set SMTP debug to true in my config but nothing extra shows up in the error.

as a test i did the following:
changed the whmcs mail config to TLS (rather than SSL) and i got this.
SMTP Error: Could not connect to SMTP host.

then i changed it to none and got
    SMTP Error: Could not authenticate.

I am also using configserver firewall..

Thanks im sure its something simple i just have not found it yet.

i will do that as well, but i just got off of a ticket with whmcs tech support and they pretty much said it was a server issue not a whmcs issue. It was working before the move so im guessing its a server issue as well.

It was csf smtp blocking that was doing it, i had to add my two shared ip's and my ded ip to the exception list and i had to also enable

in exim config -> security tab, now im not 100% sure this had anything to do with it but i suppose it cant hurt to have this enabled. I can send mail from whmcs now.

here is what is so funny

what is actually crazy is that its been what about a week now, and i had no clue my whmcs mail was not being sent.

I get all these reports every day,
    when i log into root
    when i log into whm
when i log into vps panel
    when mem is low
    when diskspace is low
when there is a stange process. and on and on and on

but what i dont get is what i need to get, stuff that is important that hey your email is not going out lmao... Thats the report i need lol screw the other ones lol..

I am happy to see you were able to address the issue. Note that cPanel/WHM notifications are typically related to the cPanel/WHM software itself. You would likely need to send a feature request to WHMCS if you wanted a notification about email failures from that application.

    Thank you.
