Just recently switched to a new server, upon the switch my counter no longer works. And when I go to recreate it I get the same error, the error is:

Could Not Write To Counter File: /var/cpanel/Counter/btbphil.dat

    Thanks!

Delete your counter and then login at yourdomain.com/cpanel and install it again. This should fix your problem.

If you have access as root check the ownership of the dat file. It should be user.user

Yeah..also check this. Login to SSH and do ls -l to the directory path of files. You will see the ownership assigned to users.
