heres another problem with it...
----------
Byte order is not compatible at blib/lib/Storable.pm (autosplit into blib/lib/auto/Storable/fd_retrieve.al) line 349, at /usr/local/cpanel/whostmgr/docroot/cgi/cpaddons_report.pl line 218
--------------
rm /home/TEST/.cpaddons/cPanel::Chat::phpMyChat.0
[[email protected]]
#/usr/local/cpanel/whostmgr/docroot/cgi/cpaddons_report.pl --notify

now it works!

but that means it will break when people install scripts through it because it will create new cfg files...

its just pooor FreeBSD Support...

This happens for RHEL as well, so you are not alone.

That issue is outlined here and is actually the same problem:
http://bugzilla.cpanel.net/show_bug.cgi?id=4195

sry for somehow offtopic question, but is it posible to do something to force cPaddons Scripts to install in root of site instead of subdomain / directory?
Only if the addon was made to do that, if it was the install form will tell you.

I have an item (in WHM) called "Install cPAddons" and another "Manage cPAddons". Is that the sign of an old version of WHM? None of the addons seem to install properly lately... I have to do it all manually. My version reads WHM 10.8.0 cPanel 10.9.0-C56.

Thanks Dan!

Well, I tried enabling them and adding from cPanel. Always get an error or another... for the sake of this post I tried to install b2evolution (blog software) in one of the domains I have and don't use. Right at the top of the page I got this error:
[a fatal error or timeout occurred while processing this directive]

That was even before the install. Then I filled in the properties to install and voilá: nothing. A totally blank page. I went back to the cpanel home and clicked on MySQL, checked and the database was there. Went to the URL (/blog) and I got this message:
Your baseurl ([% url_to_install_without_trailing_slash %]) set in _config.php seems invalid. You probably missed the "http://" prefix. Please correct that.

So it doesn't work. Similar stuff happens with phpBB which I used to be able to install from cPanel. One of the people hosted on my server managed to install it via phpBB a long time ago but now I can't maintain because WHM doesn't recognize the installation anymore so I have to install the patches by hand. Same with any software that anyone needs: I have to follow the package's installation and do it all by hand, can't rely on cPanel to do it... frustrating :(
