    is there a way to add www. to the wordpress install url? it's not in the dropdown box of choices. our client would like their blog to be at www.domain.com/blog and not domain.com/blog.

    ideas?

    Have you actually tried to access the site via the URL he'd like? It should work fine without changing anything. If you have, where'd it go if not to the site?

    After the install, you need to change the URL's (in settings) to include the www. prefix.

    Also

    You might also want to ad something like to your .htaccess file

    Code:
    AuthName www.domain.com
    Options +FollowSymLinks
    RewriteEngine on
    RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^domain.com
    RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.domain.com/$1 [R=permanent,L]
    <Files 403.shtml>
    order allow,deny
    allow from all
    </Files>
    This will prevent anyone not typing the www to forward to the www
    this will also prevent your site from getting seperate pageranks from google
    from the www.domain.com/blog and domain.com/blog

    have to be careful with these though some scripts its not to friendly with this
