This just happened today... so give the cPanel team a little time to address the issue before downgrading or whatever... ;)

tried upcp using force, did not correct. Doing this on both servers with the upgrade to WHM 11.28.42.

    Editing /usr/local/cpanel/whostmgr/docroot/templates/updateconf.tmpl works great.

We do not recommend downgrading to STABLE. STABLE is 11.26, and the other tiers are 11.28. Downgrading can cause serious problems. If you are experiencing a problem with cPanel 11.28, please submit a ticket, and we will help you fix it. This is almost always a better approach than trying to downgrade cPanel.

To fix the problem with Main >> Server Configuration >> Update Preferences, edit /usr/local/cpanel/whostmgr/docroot/templates/updateconf.tmpl, and remove the following line:

    Code:
    [% USE CPMisc -%]
The Update Preferences page will now work as expected.

A fix for this issue has already been developed, and is currently going through the QA process. It will be released to public builds as soon as possible, though there is no firm ETA. If it is not urgent for you to change your update preferences, and you have automatic updates enabled, you can simply wait and the problem will be fixed the next time a new cPanel build is available.

We apologize for the text error that is displayed in Update Preferences and any inconvenience or confusion it may cause.
