Not only do third party scripts like Fantastico not work but we have a proprietary script that is now dead.

I need to know how to roll our servers back to the previous version.

Hosting companies trust your guys and I assume that is why servers come with autoupdate on, but I can tell you that I will not be using v 11 anytime soon. Getting our scripts to run on 11 will be a major expense so I just want the old version back. It worked great for us and now I have had 2 days of ZERO production due to the updates.... arrrgh

You will have these problems if you are not follow the instruction here :

http://forums.cpanel.net/showthread.php?t=66166

I've follow this instruction and have minor problem with cpanel 11 like root packages shows on reseller package list. But for overall, me and my customers are happy with cpanel 11 :D

Actually, Fantastico works perfectly under Cpanel 11!

If installed and configured properly, none of your scripts would be effected either
so you really can't blame Cpanel 11 at all because it actually works perfectly!

What is somewhat broken is Cpanel's upgrading process and that is really
what is to blame in your case and not actually Cpanel 11 itself.

Fortunately there are ways around the hiccups in Cpanel's upgrade process
and if you know what you are doing, you can get any server up to a very
smooth running Cpanel 11 without any trouble whatsoever.

If you really want to step backwards then that is your choice but you should
know that Cpanel 11 is not actually your problem.

If you would rather keep Cpanel 11 and sort out the problems that are
fallout from the upgrade process itself, I can certainly help you with that.

Let me give you a brief outline and you tell me what you think.

SERVER 1

Thursday all of our scripts worked fine.

Friday the datacenter upgrades to cPanel 11.

After upgrade the scripts fail.

The only thing that has changed is the new cPanel.

SERVER 2

After seeing that the new cPanel causes failures in the mission critical scripts we set the other server to manual update.

Everything is fine.

Datacenter notices problems migrating sites from SERVER 1 to SERVER 2.

Datacenter reinstalls cPanel (version 11).

Scripts fail.

Now, you tell me what you think the problem is here.

I just need the things to work... I am going crazy here. I have a custom script that took 6 months to write and honestly can't afford more development cost. If you can help that would be GREAT!!!!

This is realy bull**** what I read here.

I get the impression that,
-your datacentre absolute don't know what they are doing and so can't install a proper version of cPanel.
-You realy talking nonsense about "your script" that won't work on your server now with version 11, what would be the difference with DirectAdmin??

Just say exactly what is wrong or not working or investigate your own script but don't talk this way because you sounds "realy" stupid.

You say you hate it (cPanel) but hey that is not the problem of cPanel, you just don't know enough about everything to "controle it" thats all, just don't blame it on others.

Computer stuff... LOL

It cuts our workload down by a huge amount and allows us to get more work done before 9 am than most people do all week.

I'm not sure you understand. Whats the script do, whats it connecting to, whats its purpose? If you could at least generalize what it does, that might help someone assist you in solving why it now doesn't work. I could care less about your script actual workings.

If it's top secret as you insinuate, fine. Best of luck with it. ;)

cPanel11 is a breeze to update and many have without issue. The ones that couldn't seem to be posting the most lately.

OK what you have succeeded to do here is just piss me off. Obviously you can't read or don't care to pay attention.

You don't even know me OR anything about this situation, but you decided to call me '"realy" stupid'. I "realy" love it when people in other countries with a tenuous grasp on the English language proceed to try and insult me.

The facts are:

CP v 11 is horrible.
My system functioned perfectly before the roll-out.
I asked for instructions on rolling the server back to a version that works.

Unless you can answer the topic at hand I suggest that you STFU!

Honestly it would be impossible for me to explain the complete working of the script. It does a lot of things, but where it fails with the new install of CP is in creating domains and subs.

Kewl, why not we start a poll and let the users decide if the upgrade was a BREEZE as claimed by the "MAJORITY" here?
Maybe that's an idea... you seem to have a real hate on for it that I don't understand. I'm one of the silent majority who have had no problems at all with the update, and I'm hardly starting with a fresh install. My server has been update and patched along from way back in the version 8 timeframe.

Ok for that one you might have an incompatibility ..... maybe.

It depends mainly on whether your script is making API calls or doing direct
Cpanel / WHM calls from those scripts.

If I can take a look at the script code, I could probably tell you more.

Generally speaking though, most every script out there should work just fine
under Cpanel 11 and I've been using it longer than anyone. Any real
instance of incompatibilities or problems is actually quite rare.

Most of the problems currently being reported about Cpanel 11 actually stem from
the upgrade process and not from Cpanel 11 itself even though most people
are attributing the problems to Cpanel 11 not realizing otherwise.

Anyway, got your private message and I'd be glad to give you a hand with that.
