Hello @Benjamin D.,

The column header symbol in WHM >> Process Manager is a button that sorts according to the symbol once it's clicked, as opposed to an icon that displays the current state of the sort order. You'll notice the same behavior in WHM >> Show Current Running Processes.

Thank you.

But why would it display the button in the opposite state it is in?
Hello @Benjamin D.,

It's not displaying the current state of the sort order, but rather it indicates what will happen to the sort order if you click on the icon. It's the equivalent of a text based link such as "Click here to sort by highest to lowest". I checked and confirmed this works the same way in additional interfaces related to resource usage:

WHM >> Daily Process Log
WHM >> Process Manager
WHM >> Show Current Running Processes

I encourage you to submit a feature request if you'd like to see an option to change the default sort order icon behavior:

Submit A Feature Request

Thank you.

OK, I understand, but WHM then becomes the very first interface I've ever seen that has this "feature". It's pretty much backwards of any OS interface and/or any app I've ever used. Just look at how columns sort triangle is displayed in Windows or macOS. People are used to a standard interface. Where is this idea coming from anyway? What is WHM's designer taking this approach from? Never seen such a confusing sorting interface in my life!

Maybe it was designed by an Australian ?

Honestly, aren't there more important things that need attention before we start worrying about sort arrows ?

Hello,

I've opened internal case CPANEL-22397 to determine if there's a specific reason we implement the sort order icon in this manner. I'll monitor this case and update this thread with more information as it becomes available.

Thank you.
