I experienced the same thing now and I noticed my hostname had changed from server.example.com to server.
Changing the hostname back to what it was and refreshing the cPanel license solved this.

However I'm wondering what prompted the change. Is there a bug in cPanel we should know about?

I have active cpanel license but when I try to login with whm I'm getting this message:

oi65.tinypic.com/ay0kns.jpg

How could I fix this? I already verified the license, the /usr/local/cpanel/cpkeyclt command.

We could access WHM a month ago, and we haven't made any changes since then. But, somehow, we cannot longer access it. Why is that?

Furthermore, we have this hostname: ip-10-99-0-170.localdomain. However, we haven't initialized it in etc/hosts and other files. But we have never had any kind of error.

Hello,

Internal case CPANEL-23854 is open to report the issue where the hostname check prevents access to the WHM user interface upon the upgrade to cPanel & WHM version 76 if the existing hostname isn't valid. I'll monitor this case and update this thread with more information as it becomes available. In the meantime, the workaround is to configure the hostname from the command line using a command like this:

Code:
/usr/local/cpanel/bin/set_hostname server.your-domain-here.tld
We document the hostname naming requirements at:

Change Hostname - Version 76 Documentation - cPanel Documentation

Thank you.
