    Hello,

I am brand new to this forum and am not sure if this is exactly the right category for my question but here it is. I have hosting service through an independant hosting provider (not a mega provider like Hostgator or other similar service). I am trying to get my hosting set up to do an add on domain to my hosting account. However, the person who I purchased my hosting through is apparantly not real tech savvy (although he is very trustworthy) about how to enable my Cpanel to do this. I know this is not normally set up by default and has to be enabled by the hosting provider before a user can add on extra domains. I am trying to help him out and find out what the process is for him to do this. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated. He has graciously offered to set me up with a seperate hosting for the domain I want to add to get this resolved, but I would rather just get my present hosting set up to do this rather than take financial advantage of him. Thanks for any help you might be able to provide on this situation. If this post is in the wrong category just let me know which would be the proper category so I could post it appropriately.

To modify an account to have the ability to have addon domains, they would need to login to WHM and in the Account Functions section click on Modify an Account. They would then select your account as the account to modify. On the following screen, for the Max Addon Domains: field, they can change that number from 0 to whatever number they desire to permit you to have. Once they click save, you should be able to add addon domains from your cPanel interface.

You have chosen the correct category to post to but you have not chosen the correct hosting provider (sorry for being straight forward). The solution provided by cPanelDavidG is something very simple. If my hosting provider does not know this, I would quickly switch to a more professional hosting provider before the number of my web customers increases.
