I have question about the Urchin/Cpanel integration. With the way that Cpanel shuts down the Urhcin server/log processes, how can I get direct linking working?

Expample. WIth the Urchin server process us (and using port 9999) I can do a call to a report profile directly without having to login with something like the following:

    http://www.somesite.com:9999/report.cgi?profile=somtsite.com&rid=160

When Cpanel is in control of urchin, its stops the web service (shutdowns port 9999) and forces everything through 2082

    http://www.somesite.com:2082/frontend/x3/stats/urchin.html?profile=somesite.com&rid=160

which allways pops the Cpanel account login. I tried

    http://username:password@www.somesi...tats/urchin.html?profile=somesite.com&rid=160

and that didnt work. Is there a way I can use direct linking for urchin and either bypass, or send the username/psssword long with th reqest?

    Thanks

Links in the format of user:pass@domain:2082 will typically not work in modern web browsers because of security concerns. That is why in cPanel 9 we had to add capabilities to allow alternative ways of embedding a custom login form into your existing website.

After all the great responses from everyone here  and many weeks of tinkering I was able to figure this out myself. :D

Woot Urchin Reports controlled by Cpanel, bypassing the CPanel login so I dont have to give out my cpanel login to anyone else but allow them access to urchin reports. :D
