I know this questions has been asked a million times, and i know this issue still hasn't been fixed since i first used cpanel 4 years ago..

But is there an expected time that cpanel will resolve the issues between difference in whm and cpanel displaying incorrect bandwidth.

eg. cpanel shows user has used 500 GB in bandwidth but WHM manage shows the user has used 60GB (and is suspended as that is their max)

How can we bill accordingly, this has been an ongoing issue for years when is cpanel going to get it fixed? Is it last on their list or are they just pushing out a product and don't really care about fixing bug?

    update:
oops its been seven years i have been dealing with this issue.. my math is wrong

I am unable to replicate this issue on my production server. I recommend clicking the "bugs" link in the top-right corner of this page so we can look into this for you and keep you updated regarding a resolution.

David ServInt has reports going back a long time of users having this issue and I know I have seen other people complain about it..

I will submit the bug report but cpanel should uses its resources and contact NOCs that they have a partnership with and get to the bottom of this.

How can I bill a user for bandwidth when I am not sure if the logs are correct.

If you're not sure that your server is operating as expected, you should put a ticket in to cPanel support.

Checking multiple servers running different versions of cPanel I don't see this problem here, either.

Love this response from cpanel tech

    --------------------

The bandwidth reporting system in cPanel/WHM is not intended to be used to bill customers for bandwidth, as it clearly states that it does not monitor all possible uses of bandwidth - only the most common. It's intended to be a quick reference, and to allow basic resource control (similar to the use of disk space quotas).

We are in the process of improving our bandwidth collection and reporting tools. The improvements are slowly being introduced to the product as they are completed and undergo testing.

The situation you have described does not sound like it matches up with a known bug however. Would you like us to investigate?
