    Hello,

We use the new cPanel backup system with amazon S3.
We have one server with a colocation plan. This plan allow us to use 15mb/s. We can use more but we paid for extra mb/s.

My question is how we can limit the bandwith(mb/s) for the backup process when it upload the data to amazon s3?

For example, if we want to assign just 3mb/s to the upload to amazon s3, what we need to do?

    Thanks in advance

if your using rsync you can use the bandwidth limit option --bwlimit=KBPS

    Hello :)

There are no native tools included with cPanel/WHM that allow you to shape traffic to a specific speed during the backup process. Using rsync with a specific flag would require a custom backup script, as it's not an option you can control through cPanel/WHM. You are welcome to search for and utilize a third-party applications for this functionality. You may find the following thread helpful:

    Thank you.
