    Hi,

I have cpanel backups running at 4am, but for some reason there are intermittent backups being ran throughout the day. Is there some setting to control this?

upcp will attempt to run backups but backups should not run again if they have already been run once that day.

The Cpanel backup solution sucks in general. We have our set to daily and no one in Cpanel can figure out why they won't do weekly or monthly like they are supposed to. Also, it is a horrible resource hog so you should probably be glad it is spacing it out through the day.

Some web hosts say CPanel backup is unreliable, others strongly discourage it because it's a resource hog.

Seems to me that something as necessary and basic as a backup should be both reliable and host-friendly.

Is CPanel working on a better backup?
