Hello. I was having problems with ALL ftp accounts being able to log in with no password. This was noticed on FreeBSD 4.9 using WHM 9.2.0-R27.

/usr/local/cpanel/bin/ftpupdate will add passwords incorrectly to the individual user password files located in /etc/proftpd/<username>

This is because the ftpupdate script calls uname, which is not in /bin, but /usr/bin on FreeBSD.

A simple fix is to symlink /usr/bin/uname to /bin. Simply modifying this script will not work as mkvhostpasswd also has a reference to /bin/uname.

    Enjoy.
