Greetings All,

I'm trying to figure out why a cPanel server is blocking a couple of IP's, but the IP block list is empty.

We've run a trace from the "problem IP" and its traffic is getting to the blocking server, but the server won't send any requested data. This problem manifests using web, ping, FTP, etc.....nothing gets returned.

Where does cPanel actually store the data that defines which IP's requests are ignored? Is it possible that under the hood somewhere are a list of IP's that are getting blocked but not showing up on the admin panel list?

Please, any advice or help would be appreciated!
Thanks,

cPanel doesn't block IP's except for the .htaccess blocking method that blocks viewing site. But that wouldn't prevent you from pinging the server. You should check the firewall rules for your particular firewall. Or shut the firewall off long enough to try and ping the server to eliminate or confirm that it is the cause.
