Wordpress ver: 4.6.1
Root access? Yes
URL: jasoncollege24.com, installed at blog.jasoncollege24.com

Notes:
* Wordpress was not installed by cpanel originally. I installed it.
* server had a OS upgrade earlier this year, which included a backup, and restore of my cpanel user
* The Site Software for Wordpress was reinstalled via WHM today, when I realized cpanel had disabled core updates in favor of this interface.
* my install shows in Applications > Wordpress Manager (Which is deprecated)
* My install does not show up in Software > Site Software
* In the wordpress manager, it says I must update via Site Software, and provides a link. When I click on that link, I get what's in the included screenshot below.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I really want to get this updated safely.

I've never purchased it, but apparently cPanel made changes to my wordpress site before the OS upgrade, preventing me from updating on my own.

My data center provides cpanel as part of my package. Is it possible I have such a license included already? if so, how would I find out?

If I don't already have it, I kinda can't afford to pay more money, so would need to understand how to return control of my wordpress updates to me. (eg re-enable core updates in WP itself, despite the claim by cpanel that this can cause data loss)

Edit: Also, if this is the case, cPanel should warn about this, when trying to force me to update my existing wordpress installation this way.

Edit: according to this screenshot from Software > Site Software, I can use cpanel to install wordpress.wordpress-software.png

Whoops! You're correct... in wordpress, I had the cPanel & WHM Site Software plugin installed. Disabling this resolves the problem. Still confused why I can install new, but not see an existing install anymore in cpanel.
